Wardrobe Woe & Heartburn

I have discovered that I do not own many long-sleeved shirts. I have four such shirts in my closet. Unfortunately I learned today that two of the four no longer fit. Damn! I resorted to wearing a dressier suit jacket today, just because I couldn't find anything else that would cover my poor poison-ivy ridden arms, and at least two people have asked me why I was "all dressed up" -- they were oblivious to my blue jeans and flip-flops, I guess.

The prednisone is really helping with the itching, but every so often in the afternoons I just have to scratch like mad! No big side effects, either, except for persistent heartburn. The doctor said I might get the "munchies" while on the drug, but I think I just want to eat to make the heartburn recede. I've been chugging water for the same reason. Oh well, I think I would choose heartburn over insanely itchy arms any day.

The whole experience sounds very unpleasant, but I'm glad the itchy is getting better. Personally, I find Goodwill is a great solution to temporary wardrobe deficiencies :)

I have had heartburn like, since I was 8! Can you take something for it? Most decent stuff is OTC... I suggest zantac for mild, zegerid or prilosec for not so mild. I'm partial to drugs that start with Z. If it's REALLY mild the chewy prevacids are yummy! And avoid OJ or anything citrusy.
